Preparation & Setup · الدرس 5 من 29
How to get started
Before diving into the markets, it’s important to ensure you have the right setup and tools. Here’s a structured list of everything you’ll need to get started on the right foot.
1. A Reliable Computer or Laptop
Requirement: A computer or laptop with enough processing power to handle multiple applications smoothly. Recommendation: Any modern PC or Mac with at least 8GB of RAM and a stable processor (i5 or equivalent) should be sufficient. If you have the budget, we recommend to have several screens, to be able to look at different charts in the same time (optional). Tip: Trading is about precision. Ensure your device runs smoothly and can handle multiple tabs or windows without lag.
2. A Fast and Stable Internet Connection
Requirement: A high-speed internet connection, ideally 10 Mbps or higher. Why It’s Important: Market prices move quickly, and a slow connection can lead to delayed data or trade execution. Tip: Consider a backup connection (such as a mobile hotspot) to stay connected if your primary internet goes down.
3. Starting Capital
Requirement: Funds that you are comfortable risking in the market, as trading inherently involves risk. Minimum Recommendation: We recommend starting with at least $5,000 in whatever asset you’re trading. This should be a small portion of your net worth, as trading involves higher risk. PDT Rule for U.S. Stocks and Options: If you plan to day trade U.S. stocks or options (what we primarily do), keep in mind the Pattern Day Trader (PDT) rule requires a minimum of $25,000 in your account if you want to make more than three day trades within five business days. Futures, Crypto and other markets do not have this rule. Important: Don’t be discouraged if you don’t currently have $25,000 available. You can begin trading with smaller amounts, take less trades and work your way up over time. Reminder: Only invest what you can afford to lose. Trading should be done with surplus capital, not essential savings or emergency funds.
4. A Comfortable Workspace
Requirement: A quiet, dedicated workspace where you can focus without distractions. Setup Ideas: Consider ergonomic accessories such as a quality chair, desk, and dual monitors to make chart analysis and research more efficient. Why It’s Important: A comfortable environment helps you stay focused, disciplined, and organized—key traits for successful trading.
5. Charting Platform
Requirement: Access to a reliable charting platform to analyze price movements, technical indicators, and patterns. Tip: We’ll be discussing charting platforms in-depth in an upcoming episode, so you’ll have clear guidance on how to select and use one.
